Czechoslovakia Never Existed

Czechoslovakia Never Existed

Every year, Beloit College publishes a “Mindset List” intended to help professors understand the “cultural touchstones” for each new class of college students. Among other things, this new class – mostly born in 1992 – hasn’t used phones with cords, have always had hundreds of TV channels and computers with CD-ROM, have never seen Russia as an enemy, rarely use email, and for them, Czechoslovakia never existed.

It’s a sobering, if humorous, reminder that a new generation is communicating and learning much differently than we ever did and this will have a large impact on how we interact and work together in our organizations of the future.
